Hakuba is paradise on earth! We want to protect our beautiful hometown and pass it on to the future. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are just one of may ways to continue to raise consciousness about climate change and conservation.

Hakuba Happo-one Ski Resort is making the necessary changes and from 1 April we began operating the Grat quad lift (1,831m) using 100% renewable energy. By converting one more lift in addition to the 15 lifts that are already operating CO2-free, Hakuba Happo-one Ski Resort is now operating 72% of the lifts by renewed energy.

In February 2022, some snowmaking machines and restaurants were also converted to renewable energy, and the ski resort expects to reduce annual CO2 emissions by more than 1,000 tons as a result of this initiative.

We will continue to communicate our SDGs and environmentally friendly operations with the aim of becoming an eco-friendly mountain resort as our major goal and commitment to nature.
