Important Notice for Visitors Coming for Sightseeing and Hiking
During the green season, the Happo-One Nature Path offers trekking routes up to Happo Pond.
However, currently, the area above Happo-ike Sanso is still covered in lingering snow, and full mountaineering equipment is required.
If you plan to enter from the trailhead in front of Happo-ike Sanso, please ensure you are properly equipped for alpine conditions and submit a climbing registration form in advance.
There is a Mountain Climbing Information Center located in front of the gondola base station, where you can also consult with staff. (Open from April 26 to 28, and May 3 to 6.)
Additionally, please note that the public restroom at the Second Cairn is closed for the winter season. The restrooms at Happo-ike Sanso and the Alpen Quad lift summit station are also unavailable due to water shortages. The nearest available restroom in the upper areas is located at the Usagidaira Terrace.

Beyond this point, you will be outside the ski area’s managed zone. Proper mountaineering equipment and submission of a climbing registration form are required.
▼We recommend wearing crampons when walking on snow. There is a risk of slipping.
Please be cautious of weak snow areas, as they may cause you to fall through.
▼There are parts of the trail where the path is exposed.
▼The trail beyond the Second Cairn is still covered in snow.
▼Happo Pond is currently covered by snow and cannot be seen. The snow usually starts to melt between June and July, revealing the pond underneath.
(Happo Pond is located beneath the snowfield.)
▼For reference: Happo Pond around the end of June.
Please have a safe and enjoyable hike.
